The Magnificent Seven Cats:
We were contacted by a lovely family who asked if we would help them by rehoming their much loved cats that they had taken in as homeless kittens. They had fallen love with them and couldn’t bear the thought of parting with any of them, so they kept them all. But when they were faced with having to move, they were unable to take their cats with them, which meant that a very sad parting became necessary.
It has to be said that these cats are a credit to the family who had to give them up. They have been so well looked after, are friendly, affectionate and playful and will make wonderful family pets.
Their names are Panda, Rurik, Pavarotti, Anubis, Mukka, Mini and Biscuit. All are available for adoption apart from Biscuit.
They are a very sociable clan, so they will need to be homed with one of their siblings, another unrelated cat or go to a home where there is already a nice friendly cat in residence.
They are stunningly beautiful too, with thick, plush coats and unusual markings – there could possibly be some British Shorthair or Burmese genes somewhere in the mix!
We are increasingly asked to take in beloved pet cats due to owners being unable to find a rented home with a landlord who will allow animals. There are a few kind landlords that do allow one or two pets, (seven of course would be too many) but they have become harder to find, which puts immense pressure on charities that are already stretched to the limit.
This is so often a heart breaking situation, which leaves children and adults weeping with the grief of having to part with their cats that are a true part of the family. It saddens us to the core, because these are people with good hearts who don’t want lose their pets, but due to circumstances beyond their control, they have no choice.
We hope there will be some kind of change in the law that will allow people in rented homes to keep their pets, rather than having to go through the anguish of giving them up.
