FROM RUTH AND ALLAN: (December 2022)

We would like to send our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the wonderful people who have donated to us in so many ways, particularly during such a difficult time for us all.

Your generosity has truly touched our hearts and has enabled us to help so many cats and kittens in need of our care. The cats and kittens, if they could, would tell you how grateful they are for your kindness.

We are a purely voluntary charity, which means that nobody is paid. This means that financial donations are spent on the cats, and donations of food, toys, bedding, saleable items, and of course the time and effort of our fundraisers and volunteers, all go towards making their stay with us a comfortable, happy and positive experience.

Thank you all so much for your support. xxx

A PERSONAL THANK YOU FROM RUTH & ALLAN (December 2020)

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the gifts to us both. We have been overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity, and each and every gift is very much appreciated.        We don’t have a lot of time for cooking or shopping so these goodies are a real treat.

We know what a difficult year 2020 has been in so many ways, and the donations of all kinds such as regular and one off donations of funds, food, blankets, beds, toys and equipment that we have received for the cats have touched us deeply and helped so much.

We hope that you all have a safe and happy year ahead.

Ruth and Allan xxx

CLAP FOR OUR NHS (April 2020)

We all love our NHS and it's good to show our appreciation of their heroic efforts against all odds during this terrible pandemic.
However, we wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't mention that we have had notifications of a number of cats going missing on Thursday evenings after being scared by the noise of saucepans, bells and clapping etc.
Most have been found after 3 or 4 days but 3 are still missing, so please make sure your cats are indoors before 8pm on a Thursday because what is a great uplifting sound of community support to us, is a frightening noise to our cats.
Stay safe, Ruth & Allan xxx

FUNDRAISING BY THE SAVANNAH CHARITABLE TRUST (2017)

We are thrilled that the Savannah Charitable Trust chose us as their nominated charity for a donation via their weight loss competition. We received an amazing £1,205 for which we are extremely grateful. That money will help many cats in need and as a purely voluntary charity, goes toward making our continued work possible. This donation was requested by Lorna Edmonds, Jonathan Edmonds, Camilla Edmonds and William Gorton.

FUNDRAISING BY FATFACE TENTERDEN (2016)

Fatface Tenterden chose us as their 2016 Black Friday event charity and we were fortunate to receive a £400 donation because of this. It is the second time they have chosen us for specific fundraising and we are exceedingly thankful. The money fed many hungry little mouths and in turn, helped us to continue our work.

OUR BIG AUTUMN SALE 2016!

Our Big Autumn Sale was on Sunday 6th November at Rolvenden Village Hall.

Doors opened at 10am until 3pm and we raised a staggering £2900! which was our best sale yet. We are enormously grateful to everyone who helped to make this a memorable day and raise such a wonderful amount of money.

Please remember that all proceeds from our sales are entirely for the cats. We are a purely voluntary charity, devoted to the rescue and rehoming of cats and kittens – that means nobody gets paid.

We look forward to holding more sales in the future.

ARTICLES REGARDING ROLVENDEN CAT RESCUE & MIS-HOMED MICROCHIPPED CAT:

You may have read in the local press and elsewhere on the internet that in 2016 we mis-homed a micro chipped family cat which was mistakenly handed in to us as abandoned whilst the owners were on holiday. We would like to reassure our volunteers and supporters that the cat in question has been reunited with his original owners, by us, within 7 days of us being made aware of the error.

If a cat goes missing it is of paramount importance that the owner;

  • Informs the microchip company and ensures the contact details are kept up to date

  • Contacts local vets

  • Contacts animal rescue centres

  • Leaflet drops

  • Posters in public places

  • Social media appeals

A human error was made by us in the reading of the 15 digit number, and we received no missing reports until five weeks after he was handed into our care.

In our many years of operation we have successfully homed thousands of cats and kittens to happy homes and a case of this nature is extremely rare.  We work 7 days a week for the safety and welfare of cats and kittens and regularly reunite missing cats with their owners via their microchip details and/or missing appeals. We are devastated by this occurrence and although we realise that genuine mistakes can and do happen, we would like to further reassure our loyal supporters and volunteers that we are as conscientious as we always have been and that further safeguards have been put in place to prevent future errors of this nature.

A FUNDRAISING THANK YOU (2015)

We would like to thank the organisers and volunteers at the Biddenden Christmas Fair who gave up their time and raised almost £700 for us! This was a fantastic amount of money and all funds raised are for the cats. We are extremely grateful.
