It is worth remembering that for a healthy pet cat, it is quite usual for them to live for 16 to 20 years.

This means that a 3 to 5 year old cat is still very young and that even a cat who is 14 years or more, has plenty of life to live and love to give.

Name: Huxley
Age: 5 Years Gender:  Male   Breed:  DSH
Age: 5 Years Gender:  Male   Breed:  DSH
About
Huxley is an extremely unusual black spotted boy.
He came into our care after a very harsh life of living outside, and he was thin, exhausted, and very fearful.
He has made significant progress since then, but he is a timid lad, so is only suitable for a quiet, adult only, indoor home where he will be shown plenty of understanding .
He likes other cats, so he will need to be homed with another cat for feline company, or to a home where there is already a friendly indoor cat or cats.
He can be stroked, but he can occasionally give a little hiss - this is not aggressive at all as he is a gentle boy, but shows that he is still slightly unsure of human intentions. This will of course change over time, with kindness and patience.
If you would like to offer poor little Huxley the loving and understanding home he needs, please contact our centre on 01580 241632 to arrange to meet him.
Name: Harvey
*** HOME OFFERED ***
Age: 12 years  Gender:  Male    Breed: Oriental Tabby
About
Harvey is a darling pedigree Oriental Tabby boy.
He has come into our care after being abandoned, and he had really struggled to survive. He was painfully thin and weak, and utterly exhausted and confused. He is still a little underweight, but this is changing - and he is naturally veryslim and lithe due to his breed.
He has happily put his horrible experiences behind him since being in our care, and he is now ready to move on to a new home.
He is a senior gentleman who absolutely adores people, and he likes calm, friendly cats. He is super affectionate and he would be perfectly suited to a home where he will not be left alone much, and will have lots of kind attention and cuddles.
He is extremely typical of his breed, and that includes being very vocal and needing plenty of interaction, so previous experience of Siamese or other Oriental breeds would be a plus, although not essential for the right home. What he needs now is a caring home to live out his autumn years, with warmth, safety and love.
If you would like to offer dear Harvey the fresh start and loving home he is waiting for, please contact Ruth at our centre on 01580 241632. He would love to meet you.

*** OUR LESS BOLD CATS ***
All of the following cats have been either born outside without human interaction, have been abandoned as kittens or have not received enough positive handling. Because of this, they are fearful of human intentions, take longer to gain trust and are at varying levels of timidity.
However, many years of experience has shown us that these cats will do well in a loving, quiet, indoor only home. The rewards are not instant when offering a home to a less bold cat, but watching them develop and change positively because of your love and care far outweighs the extra patience and understanding required to win them over.
Please read each post carefully, as they are not all the same.

Name: Rocky
Age: 3 years  Gender:  Male    Breed: DSH
About
Rocky is a stunning, chunky, pastel ginger and white boy.
He came into our care as a hungry, unneutered, homeless cat. He had been spotted by a very kind lady who fed him and won his trust enough to bring him into our care. Without her he may well not have survived the coming winter.
Rocky is a quite a new resident, and it is fair to say that he is a work in progress. He is getting used to us humans and he is slowly improving. He has a good appetite and he is thankfully a healthy lad.
Cats like Rocky can be a challenge to begin with, but are worth the extra effort to win them over. He will need a calm and quiet, adult only home when he ready.
If you would like to offer Rocky a real home, please contact Ruth on 01580 241632 to discuss his needs.
We will update his post as he progresses.

We ask all those wishing to view our cats to please make an appointment.
This is to ensure that we will be able to spend one to one time with you and answer any questions you may have.
