It is worth remembering that for a healthy pet cat, it is quite usual for them to live for 16 to 20 years.
This means that a 3 to 5 year old cat is still very young and that even a cat who is 14 years or more, has plenty of life to live and love to give.

Name: Huxley
Age: 5 Years Gender: Male Breed: DSH
About
Huxley is an extremely unusual black spotted boy.
He came into our care after a very harsh life of living outside, and he was thin, exhausted, and very fearful.
He has made significant progress since then, but he is a timid lad, so is only suitable for a quiet, adult only, indoor home where he will be shown plenty of understanding .
He likes other cats, so he will need to be homed with another cat for feline company, or to a home where there is already a friendly indoor cat or cats.
He can be stroked, but he can occasionally give a little hiss - this is not aggressive at all as he is a gentle boy, but shows that he is still slightly unsure of human intentions. This will of course change over time, with kindness and patience.
If you would like to offer poor little Huxley the loving and understanding home he needs, please contact our centre on 01580 241632 to arrange to meet him.
Name: Rocky
Age: 3 years Gender: Male Breed: DSH
About
Rocky is a stunning, chunky, pastel ginger and white boy.
He came into our care as a hungry, unneutered, homeless cat. He had been spotted by a very kind lady who fed him and won his trust enough to bring him into our care. Without her he may well not have survived the coming winter.
Rocky is a quite a new resident, and it is fair to say that he is still work in progress, although he is definitely getting used to us humans. He is slowly improving and is now enjoying gentle strokes, pushing his little head against our hands. He has a good appetite and he is a healthy lad.
He would like a calm and quiet, adult only home when he is ready.
If you would like to offer Rocky a real home, please contact Ruth on 01580 241632.
*** OUR LESS BOLD CATS ***
All of the following cats have been either born outside without human interaction, have been abandoned as kittens or have not received enough positive handling. Because of this, they are fearful of human intentions, take longer to gain trust and are at varying levels of timidity.
However, many years of experience has shown us that these cats will do well in a loving, quiet, indoor only home. The rewards are not instant when offering a home to a less bold cat, but watching them develop and change positively because of your love and care far outweighs the extra patience and understanding required to win them over.
Please read each post carefully, as they are not all the same.
